Drive Camera and Glitch Effects from Beat, Bass, Mids or Treble
Audio Effector turns a piece of audio into camera movement and image damage. Load an audio file into the effect, choose what it reacts to (the detected beat, or overall loudness, or the bass, mids or treble band) and nine effects respond to it frame by frame. Nothing is keyframed. The audio is the animation.
It is not a music visualizer. There are no waveform bars or spectrum graphics. It deforms your actual footage, so it works on a documentary interview cut to room tone as readily as on a club sequence cut to a drop. It’s perfect for editors cutting to music (music videos, DJ and festival recaps, sports and gym content, trailers), and editors who want motion tied to diegetic sound (a door slam, an engine, a jackhammer) without animating it by hand.
Reaction and Timing
- Five drive modes: Beat, Loudness, Bass, Mid, Treble
- Automatic tempo detection, plus a Song BPM menu of exact divisions (2×, 1×, ½×, ⅓×, ¼×) for half, double and quarter time. Exact divisions only, because an approximate tempo drifts against the track within about thirty seconds and no offset control can hold a drift
- Beat Nudge, to push hits off the downbeat for swung and syncopated placement
- Build On and Build Off, which ramp the whole effect in and out over clip time so a shot opens and closes on clean footage
- Min Level and Max Level, a sensitivity window that lifts a quiet source or stops a loud hit pinning at full
- Master Intensity from 0 to 200%
- A Transform group with scale, position, rotation and five edge modes, giving the shakers and spinner overscan to move into
