FxFactory Pro 6.0.4: Add Noise, Pixelate and Zebra Updated

The newest version of FxFactory Pro is recommended for anyone running the macOS 26 Tahoe Beta. It brings new versions of Add Noise, Pixelate and Zebra plugins, found under the Effects browser in Final Cut Pro, and under the FxFactory Pro Stylize category in all other video apps.

To upgrade, launch FxFactory on your system. Our app will offer to update itself and/or install FxFactory Pro as needed.

Pixelate

This plug-in replaces four old effects: Pixelate, Hexagon, Crystallize and Pointillize. You can quickly toggle from one shape to another in the inspector:

Pixelate plugin: different shapes

The new Pixelate sports far better options to animate the effect, apply it with different parameters for each color channel, and add chromatic aberration to help simulate 8-bit arcade and console-era graphics. Below is our tutorial for Final Cut Pro users:

...and one for Premiere Pro:

Add Noise

This new plugin mixes standard or Perlin noise into each video frame, with options to control how frequently a new frame of noise is generated and blended together. A long list of composite modes helps achieve different goals: simulate film grain, add light leaks or apply dramatic color corrections.

As a filter, it lives under the Effects browser in Final Cut Pro:

Fans of Premiere Pro can enjoy the same introduction in their favorite, high-performing editing app:

Zebra

This quirky, loved stylization effect finds new life as an advanced posterization effect with an even greater set of animatable parameters. Zebra divides your input video into multiple levels in an alternating pattern, with an output that is reminiscent of topographical maps.

Below is our introduction for Premiere Pro:

Bug Fixes

  • Some presets in Analog TV and TV Static generator again work correctly, animating all distortions.
  • Selecting files through the inspector, such as a Cube LUT in our LUT Works plugin, will more reliably activate the separate app required to select the file.
  • All custom UI in the inspector will work as expected on the macOS 26 Tahoe Beta. Early adopters should make sure they are running the latest version of FxFactory.
