Today, we catch up with Oliver Holtkamp and Daniel Bexten, founders of Orange Studios, about their latest groundbreaking project: a giant LED screen installation on the iconic Centre Pompidou in Paris during this year’s Olympics.

Nike partnered with the Centre Pompidou, one of Paris’ most celebrated cultural landmarks, to bring “The Art of Victory,” a unique celebration of sport and culture, to life. As part of the exhibition, Nike transformed the Pompidou’s famous façade into a massive digital canvas, showcasing the evolution of Nike Air innovation and the power of sport. Orange Studios was brought on board to produce the captivating video content that took center stage on this enormous screen.

The Vision Behind the Project

The goal of this collaboration was to merge art, technology, and sport into an immersive visual experience. The Centre Pompidou, known for its bold architecture, provided the perfect setting for Nike to tell stories of athletic triumph and creativity. The installation aimed to inspire viewers and celebrate Nike’s relentless innovation in sport, with the help of cutting-edge visual design from Orange Studios.

The Screen Setup

The setup for this monumental project was nothing short of impressive. The entire façade of the Centre Pompidou was covered with a suspended DOT LED video screen:

  • Dimensions: 139.50 x 38.5 meters (5370 m²)
  • Pitch: 41.6mm
  • Resolution: 3348 x 924 pixels
  • Brightness: 5000 Nits

Visible from key points across Paris, including the Eiffel Tower, Montparnasse Tower, Sacré-Cœur, and Galeries Lafayette, the screen ensured that Nike’s message reached far and wide. One of the highlights showcased on the screen was QuickStrike, Nike SB’s latest full-length feature, shot over ten months across four continents with over 40 Nike SB squad members.

For a project of this magnitude, cutting-edge technology is essential. Here’s a look at the tools and workflow behind the scenes at Orange Studios:
